Fear - Fear Not

FEAR!!!!!!!

2 Timothy 1:7 states: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

We read the scripture. We believe the scripture. Then why are we so afraid? We fear Flying, Death, Divorce, suffering, animals, even people and the list goes on and on yet we call ourselves Christians. As a so call Christian, how can you be afraid because someone does not look like you?  Didn't "God" make man? Are you saying that "God" made a mistake when he created us differently?

The Disciples were with "God" all the time and they became fearful. Fear keeps you in bondage and makes us believe Satan's lies rather than "God". If you constantly live in fear, than you are not really living.

Fear controls your emotions, can cause you to panic, shows lack of faith in "God" and keeps us in bondage. This makes Satan happy.

There is some good news. You do have the power to control your emotions and overcome fear.

The fear I am referring to at this time is not the beneficial fear which is a reverential awe of "God". This is a reverence for His power and glory. This fear brings benefits and blessings. The“spirit of fear” mentioned in 2nd Timothy 1:7 overcomes us and prevents "God" from using us. In Psalm 56:11 the psalmist writes, “In God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” This must be the key. This trust comes from knowing God and knowing that He is good. Regardless of our situation, once we have learned to put our trust in "God", we will no longer be afraid of the things that come against us. We can tell Satan "Hit me with your Best Shot". Once you trust "God" you can face and accept your fears.

"God" wants us to know and be assured that if, and as long as He is with us, we need not be afraid. The knowledge of His presence is the certainty that He will help us.

We do not need to be afraid of anything natural or supernatural, small or great. It is the love of God that protects us and gives us victory in and over all these things.

If we trust in the love "God" has for us, we can overcome fear.

Here are some scriptures to remind you of how you can eliminate fear.

1 Peter 5:7

Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
