Managing Your Fears and Anxieties When Facing A Major Illness

Some people who have a major illness may have to deal with some fear and anxiety. Not knowing what may or may not happen can be very stressful. The good news is that there are ways to deal with your fear and anxiety.
The first step is to remind yourself that you are at spiritual warfare with the devil and he will use every trick he can to keep you from doing God’s will, but Our Heavenly Father has the last word.
We all have to face death sooner or later and some people with a major illness stop living and that is what Satan wants you to do. The doctor might say they have 6 months and the Lord might give you 30 years.

When you are faced with an illness, first I would pray to Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ask him to guide you and help you in managing your fears and worries. Learn how to trust in Him as His will is going to be done, no matter what the doctor says. Second, learn to communicate with your doctor and loved ones. You do not have to be alone in dealing with your illness and fears. Talking with others can give you additional insights and options to your current problems.

Third, if you still fill anxiety, do not try to do everything at the same time. Some people try to handle all of their anxieties at the same time. When trying to do everything all at once, it becomes harder to find the answers to your problems. Go at your pace in managing your stresses.

Finally continue to pray and remember that there is always hope that things will get better. Prayer is a great way to manage your fears. Do not underestimate the power of prayer.
If you still have trouble then seek the services of a counselor or clergyman who can lead you in the right direction. The key is not to lose hope.
